Day 1 - Sagres
Transfer from Faro airport to Sagres, by private bus
Accommodation in Sagres

 
Within one of the most impressive scenery of the Algarve, lays the small village of Sagres with its sea cliffs and the 15th century fortress high above the ocean.

Its isolated beauty and its wild and windy beaches set Sagres apart from the other villages in the Algarve.

It’s especially popular, particularly among the sunbathers and surfers. Away from the holiday villas, bars and restaurants, is the busy port and the lively marina.

From the tip of Ponta de Sagres there are great views up the coast to cape “Cabo São Vincente”. Today the cape is better known for its lighthouse with one of the most powerful lamps in Europe.

 

 

Day 2 - Cycling Sagres to Lagos
From Sagres to Lagos – 36 km Level: medium
Highest point: 96 m - Lowest point: 3m - climb 565 descent 591

Today, the track is along the South Coast of Algarve where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches of Salema, Burgau e Luz.

Day 3 - Cycling Lagos to Alvor / Praia da Rocha
From Lagos to Praia da Rocha – Ca. 40 km Level: medium
Highest point: 94 m - Lowest point: 1m - climb 540 descent 523

On this day we start cycling along the beach, next we go to the countryside and finish at the beautiful beach of Praia da Rocha. Along the way there are some beaches like “Praia do Alvor” and “Praia do Vau” very much worth a visit.
Places to visit: Alvor, Praia da Rocha and Portimão village

 

Day 4 - Cycling Praia da Rocha to Galé
From Praia da Rocha to Galé – Ca. 34.1 km Level: easy
Highest point: 90 m - Lowest point: 2m - climb 475 descent 458
Accommodation in Galé Beach

 
Near Portimão you will find the beach “Praia do Carvoeiro”. It is a great place to stop to have a snack or a coffee and enjoy the beauty of this small and charming beach.
Along the way to your destiny you will pedal on a few wooden cycling paths. These beautiful and peaceful paths are ideal to enjoy the sea view or to pause for bird watching.

Day 5 - Cycling Galé – Alfamar to Falésia Beach

From Galé to Hotel Alfamar (Falésia beach) – Ca. 20 km Level: easy

Highest point: 60 m - Lowest point: 4 m - climb 397 descent 402

Accommodation in Hotel Alfamar or Similar

 

This is a short cycling day, across small villages that finishes in Falésia Beach. If you arrive soon you will have time to enjoy this popular golden sands beach.

Day 6 - Cycling - Alfamar to Faro
From Hotel Alfamar (Falésia beach) to Faro – 38.4 km Level: easy
Highest point: 49 m - Lowest point: 1 m - climb 276  descent 291
Accommodation in a 3/4* Centre Hotel

 
Today we will pass by Vilamoura Marina and afterwards we will cross Quarteira, a fisherman village destination.

On our way to faro we will also pedal trough the Quinta do Lago village with the luxury houses and the beautiful golf course.

Appproaching Faro we will cycle along a track on the wetland Ria Formosa within Ria Formosa Natural Park. Offering a mix of canals, islands and sandy beaches it is home of a diversified wildlife.

Levels: Easy - Very few hills and the existing hills are not steep.

Medium - Some hills that are not steep or only few hills but steep.

Difficult -  Several hills of all types.

The participants should take into account the terrain and the km/miles of each route and be sure to check in advance that they are in good physical condition to do it.
