Day 1- Reception of the participants in Faro and transfer to the hotel in Lagos (transfer by train – 1,45 hour)

Day 2 – Cycling from Lagos to Sagres
Distance: Ca. 40 km
Highest point: 93 m
Lowest point: 8 m
Today, the track is along the South Coast of Algarve where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches of Salema, Burgau e Luz.
Within one of the most impressive scenery of the Algarve, lays the small village of Sagres with its sea cliffs and the 15th century fortress high above the ocean. Its isolated beauty and its wild and windy beaches set Sagres apart from the other villages in the Algarve.
From the tip of Ponta de Sagres there are great views up the coast to cape “Cabo Sao Vincente”. Today the cape is better known for its lighthouse with one of the most powerful lamps in Europe.

Day 3 – Cycling from Sagres to Aljezur
Distance: Ca. 50 km
Highest point: 128 m
Lowest point: 22 m
Today, after passing Odeceixe we will cycle towards the ancient village of Aljezur.
During your stay in Aljezur, explore some of the villages and beaches in the area, like the beach “Praia de Monte Clérigo” and the unspoiled and wild beach of “Arrifana”.
Aljezur is perfect for a quiet holiday and is ideal for cycling. You have deserted beaches nearby and many typical villages to discover the “unexpected” Algarve.

Day 4 – Cycling Aljezur – Monte Clérico – Arrifana – Aljezur
Distance: Ca. 26 km

From Aljezur we can adventure ourselves and get to know the beautiful beaches of Arrifana and Monte Clérigo in the Natural Park of the Vicentine Coast.

Day 5 – Cycling from Aljezur to Brejão/Odeceixe
Distance: Ca. 27 km
Highest point: 111m
Lowest point: 24 m
The small village of Odeceixe belongs to the council of Aljezur, located in the “Costa Vicentina” of the Algarve. Odeceixe is populated by 960 souls known by their genuine hospitality and warmth, the narrow and twisty streets of Odeceixe give it a picturesque look in tune with the Portuguese culture and traditions. The main economic activities are Agriculture and Fishing.

Day 6 – Cycling Brejão – Porto das Barcas – Brejão
Distance: 34 km
Highest point: 112 m
Lowest point: 1 m
Our destination for this day is a small fishing harbor in a cliff. To arrive there you will cycle 17 km amidst agriculture fields overlooking the ocean. On the way back always in the company of the sea, we will visit “Zambujeira do Mar” Village and the “Carvalhal” Beach.
Places to visit: Porto das Barcas, Zambujeira do Mar and Carvalhal Beach.
Day 7 – Cycling Brejão to Cerro da Nave Redonda
Distance: 43 km
Highest point: 193 m
Lowest point: 100 m
This time we go to the inland of Alentejo in the middle of a beautiful countryside landscape. We will cross several small villages ideal for a coffee or a snack. At the end of the day we arrive at our hotel “Cerro da Nave” for a comfortable and peaceful night in the deep Alentejo.
Places to visit: São Teotónio Village.

Day 8 – Transfer from Santa Clara Velha train station to Faro* - 1 hour
*Optional extra night in Faro is possible upon request
Levels: Easy - Very few hills and the existing hills are not steep.
Medium - Some hills that are not steep or only few hills but steep.
Difficult - Several hills of all types.
The participants should take into account the terrain and the km/miles of each route and be sure to check in advance that they are in good physical condition to do it.
