LEVEL: MEDIUM
DISTANCE: ca.11 KM
APPROXIMATE DURATION: ca. 3.30 HOURS + Yoga session

CLIMB: 408 M
DESCENT: 392 M

You will start the day on the amazing (and most famous in the area) Guincho beach, which you will cross. Enjoy the soft sand on your toes and the smell of the ocean! At the end you will reach the Abano beach, the second most famous, right by the cliff! Notice the amount of surfers on the water, as this is considered one of the best beaches for surfing in the entire country! Last but not least, after hiking a little bit more, you will reach the Grota beach.

From there you will start going up until you reach Malveira da Serra. Due to its privileged location, Malveira da Serra has been growing its population a lot; but you can still find some leftovers of the more rural times, mostly noticeable on their bread, as they still prepare the cereal on the few windmills left. Here you can stop for a coffee and a snack at Panisol, one of the popular portuguese bakeries.

You will then pass by two other villages - Alcorvim de Cima and Alcorvim de Baixo - little villages in between the trees where people started to build their houses.

The last village you'll pass by is Charneca, that got its name due to its characteristics. The vegetation of this area is mainly xerophilous, and the most typical is heather (calluna vulgaris). Back in the day "charneca" was the name used to describe arid and rocky terrain covered with heather.

Your hike will finish back at the Guincho Bar, where you will meet with the yoga instructor and enjoy an amazing session! And now you have the rest of the day to appreciate the beauty of this beach, and work on your tann!
