The day has arrived for you to explore the city! Enjoy the free morning to take some rest from the flight and to visit the city at your own pace.
After, hop on a cruise that will show you Lisbon from a river point of view, a unique way to learn about our history and see our monuments.
You will pass by places such as the Bugio Lighthouse, Fort of São Julião da Barra, Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, Padrão dos Descobrimentos and Praça do Comércio, which reflect the historical heritage of the city and the country from where navigators and discoverers set out to discover the world. Also observe the 25th of April Bridge, the São Jorge Castle and the Cristo Rei on the other side of the river. To end, take a look at the old side of the city - Alfama, where Fado is from!
Last but not least, embarge in a special and sentimental adventure, by enjoying some of the portuguese food, while listening to a concert of our Fado Cultural Heritage. You will see why we love it!
Fado emerged in a popular context in the 19th century in Lisbon, when, spontaneously and in the most diverse occasions and places, people started to sing. The themes were essentially of everyday life and urban emergency. Fado then appeared in its beginnings associated with social contexts.
All Portuguese feel Fado! Even the ones that don't like it, they feel it! Fado, for a portuguese, is more than music; because we feel every word, every note of the guitar, every sound. Fado is culture, is the pain and suffering of our portuguese ancestors. It tells our story, it's a heritage of humanity and a heritage of all.
