 Day 1 -  Lisbon - Vila Nova de Milfontes

How to get to Vila Nova de Milfontes:

From Lisbon Airport:

Take the metro at Airport Metro Station to Sete Rios Metro Station; at Sete Rios Metro Station there is a connection to the BUS.

Upon arrival the participants will receive maps and support material.

Milfontes is a fishermen's town full of beautiful sites to visit. Here you can learn a lot about the history and development of Alentejo. Make sure you grab a croissaint or an ice cream at Mabi.

 Day 2 - Walking from Vila Nova de Milfontes to Almograve - 15 Km

This is a day to purify your soul thanks to the overwhelming views over Vila Nova de Milfontes and the Mira river that meets the ocean here. It is a short and accessible hiking day so that you may enjoy the area to its fullest extent.

 Day 3 - Walking from Almograve to Zambujeira do Mar - 22 Km

Small fishing harbours, reddish sand dunes, the scent of pine tree forests and the sight - seen nowhere else in the world - of storks nesting on the cliffs, make this walk a true balm for your senses.

 Day 4 - Walking from Zambujeira do Mar to Odeceixe - 18 Km

You will be passing the beaches of Alteirinhos, Carvalhal, Machados and Amália on the way to Azenha do Mar, where you will find a natural fishing harbour. To top it all enjoy one of the most outstanding views in the entire territory: Odeceixe beach seen from the majestic Ponta em Branco.

 Day 5 - Walking from Odeceixe to Aljezur - 18 Km

Today you will be walking along Mira’s watering channel, fed by the waters of Santa Clara’s dam. For miles you will see around you the mountains to the east and the ocean to the west. You’ll have a choice between two complementary circuits that will take you to the coastal cliffs and allow you to get to know Odeceixe and Amoreira beaches.

 Day 6 - Walking from Aljezur to Arrifana - 15 Km

This is a short day, but one that can be extended by going along the Fishermen’s Trail towards Arrifana or continuing to the south, towards the villages of Bordeira and Carrapateira. You will cross scented valleys and small farms as you approach the coast, already guessing where the route will take you in the following days.

 Day 7 -  Lisbon

Transfer from Aljezur to Lisbon: BUS 3:30 hours

Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and the centre of a multifaceted region that appeals to different tastes and senses. In a city that has been receiving many and different cultures from far and wide distances over time, today you can still feel the village breath on every historical neighbourhood. You can walk through the grid of streets in Baixa Pombalina that opens to the Praça do Comércio and, following the river, get to know some of the most beautiful places in the city: the monumental area of Belém with World Heritage monuments, medieval neighbourhoods, and also areas with more recent or contemporary leisure facilities, such as the Parque das Nações and the Docks. 

Places to visit: Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, Padrão do Descobrimentos, São Jorge Castle, Praça do Comércio, Chiado, Parque das Nações

Levels

Easy - No walking experience necessary. No hills or not steep hills, short duration.
Medium - A little longer, with some hills that are not steep or only a few hills but steep.
Difficult - Requires good physical condition. Are usually long, with several hills of all type. 

The participants should take into account the terrain and the km/miles of each track and be sure to check in advance that they are in good physical condition to do it.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH VERTIGO OR FEAR OF HEIGHTS
