Today, your Caminho adventure begins in Porto.
You will meet our local partner at your hotel, where you will receive your bike and all the information you need for the journey ahead. We will provide you with the GPX files for your route and go through the details of the trip, including the stages, practical information and everything you need to know to enjoy the Caminho with confidence.
Once everything is ready, all that remains is to relax, take in the excitement of the days ahead, and get ready to set off on your Caminho.

From Porto to the Atlantic Coast
Leaving Porto behind, the route heads north towards the Atlantic, following a succession of quiet roads, coastal landscapes and traditional villages. As the city gives way to nature, the scenery becomes increasingly open and relaxed, leading to Esposende, a charming seaside town where the Cávado River meets the ocean. A gentle introduction to the journey, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the fresh sea air and the beauty of northern Portugal.
Esposende
Set between the Cávado River and the Atlantic, Esposende combines long sandy beaches, dunes and green landscapes with the relaxed atmosphere of a traditional coastal town. It is the perfect place to slow down after the first day of cycling and enjoy the simple pleasures of the northern Portuguese coast.

Following the Northern Coast
The Atlantic stays close as the journey continues north through the Minho, one of Portugal's greenest and most characterful regions. Small villages, coastal landscapes and traditional countryside accompany the ride towards Caminha, beautifully situated where the Minho River meets the sea. Across the river lies Galicia, already hinting at the next chapter of the journey.
Caminha
With the Minho River on one side and the Atlantic on the other, Caminha enjoys a spectacular natural setting. Its historic centre, elegant square and riverside atmosphere make this small town a delightful place to explore before crossing into Galicia.

Crossing into Galicia
Today the journey crosses the border and enters Galicia, where the landscape and atmosphere begin to change. The route follows the coast towards Baiona, passing through the distinctive scenery of the Galician coast and the Rías Baixas. With the sea always close by, this is a day of beautiful views and a rewarding arrival in one of Galicia's most attractive seaside towns.
Baiona
A historic port town overlooking a beautiful sheltered bay, Baiona combines maritime traditions, narrow streets and impressive coastal scenery. The Monterreal fortress dominates the waterfront, while the old town is full of places to stop, wander and enjoy the unmistakable atmosphere of the Rías Baixas.

Leaving Baiona behind, the route heads inland through the landscapes of the Rías Baixas. Vineyards, woodland, small villages and estuarine scenery create a constantly changing backdrop before the journey reaches Pontevedra. After a rewarding day in the saddle, the historic centre of this beautiful Galician city is the perfect place to relax and explore.
Pontevedra
One of Galicia's most atmospheric historic cities, Pontevedra is made for walking and discovering at a leisurely pace. Its beautifully preserved old town is filled with stone buildings, elegant squares, arcades and lively terraces, offering a wonderful combination of history, local life and Galician charm.

Through the Green Heart of Galicia
A shorter stage offers more time to enjoy the landscape as the route continues through the peaceful Galician countryside towards Padrón. The scenery becomes increasingly rural, with green valleys, small villages and fertile farmland creating a wonderfully tranquil setting. It is a day to take things slowly and appreciate the character of inland Galicia.
Padrón
Padrón is a small town steeped in the traditions and legends of the Camino de Santiago. Set in the fertile Ulla valley, it has a strong connection with Galician history and pilgrimage, while its peaceful surroundings make it a particularly pleasant place to spend the night before the final ride to Santiago.

The Final Ride to Santiago
The final stage is short, but the sense of anticipation is unmistakable. Leaving Padrón behind, the route winds through the Galician countryside towards Santiago de Compostela. With every kilometre, the destination feels closer, until the historic city and the towers of its magnificent cathedral mark the end of the journey.
Santiago de Compostela
The journey culminates in Santiago de Compostela, one of Europe's great pilgrimage cities. Its monumental old town, granite streets and magnificent cathedral create an unforgettable sense of arrival — and a fitting finale to a cycling adventure through northern Portugal and Galicia.
